After just six months of construction, W.E.B was able to celebrate the next completed project: the Höflein West wind farm began generating clean electricity in November. The Vestas V126 turbines of W.E.B feature an overall capacity of 6.9 MW. Höflein West is already the second wind farm in the municipality of Höflein near Bruck an der Leitha in Lower Austria.
The Höflein West project was realized in cooperation with Energiepark Bruck/Leitha. Höflein is by no means unknown territory to either of the two companies. W.E.B has been operating six wind power plants and generating clean energy since 2011, while Energiepark Bruck/Leitha has been in operation since 2015. Their good experiences with Höflein encouraged the companies to launch a joint project to further expand the municipality’s wind energy portfolio. Construction work for the wind farm with five wind power plants of 3.45 MW each began in April 2018: W.E.B built two and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha three plants. The total capacity of the entire project amounts to 17.25 MW.
