Interim report on the first quarter 2019
05/2019 - Back to overview
Significant plus in production provides for an impressive start of the year
The first quarter of 2019 was characterized by extraordinarily good wind conditions, especially in January and March. In comparison to the rather weak first quarter of the previous year, the generated sales revenue of the W.E.B Group amounted to MEUR 31.6, corresponding to an increase of 35 percent. The W.E.B Group’s EBT grew even stronger and amounted to MEUR 12.6, corresponding to an increase of 83 percent compared to the previous year’s first quarter.
W.E.B stays on course with its international growth strategy. In Germany the repowering project in Wörbzig was driven along further: six powerful Vestas V136 turbines replaced twelve Vestas V66 plants, generating three times more energy with just half as many turbines at the same location. In the Italian city of Piombino construction work on “Foce del Cornia”, W.E.B’s first Italian wind farm, of 19.8 MW has already reached the final stretch. After the winter break in the Canadian seaside province of Nova Scotia, W.E.B is full of zest for action to complete construction on the wind farm Albert/Wisokolamson. The wind farm with a total capacity of 18 MW is scheduled to go into operation by the end of the year.
