Mild March weather – monthly production above target
The overall monthly production of 160,551 MWh was above the stipulated target.
March 2023 started with normal temperatures before it became much too warm, with the temperature rising as high as 24°C in the second half of the month. A cold front set in in the final days of the month, in some cases leading to severe frost once again. The prevailing high-pressure system, above all in Austria, prevented positive production results from being generated in Austria. In contrast, Germany, France, Czech Republic and Italy benefited from the changeable weather conditions in March. As a consequence, expectations were exceeded, sometimes significantly. In North America, Canada remained above target, whereas production results in the United States were below the target values.
In the photovoltaic power segment, only Austria and Czech Republic outperformed their target values, while Germany, Italy and the USA remained below target.
In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria remained below target and Germany exceeded the budgeted figure.
