W.E.B wins bid for its largest wind power project to date with 84 MW
On January 28, 2020, W.E.B received wonderful news: the company came out on top in the current Italian call for tender for wind power projects and was awarded the contract for a power plant in Ariano. The wind farm is located in the town of Ariano Irpino in the Italian region of Campania, about 45 miles as the crow flies from the city of Naples in southern Italy. With 20 wind turbines and a total capacity of 84 MW, the project will become the largest wind farm in W.E.B history and the largest project in this tender.
“This success proves that we are able to walk the talk. It is the first of many steps in our intensified growth strategy towards a sustainable future,” as W.E.B CEO Frank Dumeier is full of praise for the successful bid of W.E.B.
Reinhard Kainz, CFO of the Italian subsidiary, provides insight into their next steps: “The start of construction is scheduled for spring 2021. If everything goes according to plan, our wind power plants will already be generating clean energy by the beginning of 2022.”
