Two new W.E.B wind turbines in operation in Dürnkrut
06/2023 - Back to overview
Our expansion of wind power capacities in the Austrian Weinviertel region continues: the first of two new wind power plants in the town of Dürnkrut was put into operation just before the Wind Festival on June 2. The second turbine followed suit on June 20. Boasting a total capacity of 11.2 MW, the two wind power plants will supply local energy for over 8,200 households.
This is the second completed W.E.B project in the region this year: in late April, W.E.B had already put a wind turbine of 5.6 MW into operation in Götzendorf, supplying electricity to OMV for the production of green hydrogen by means of an electrolyzer.
Dürnkrut and Velm-Götzendorf once more highlight their special role on the path towards Austria’s energy independence. W.E.B alone operates twelve wind power plants with an installed capacity of 40.6 MW in these communities, supplying almost 31,000 households with regional power every year.
