Two projects go hand in hand

W.E.B simultaneously builds wind farms in Matzen and Spannberg
The W.E.B wind power plants in the municipalities of Spannberg, Matzen and Klein-Harras are not even ten kilometers away from each other as the crow flies. Based on the good experience gained in connection with the four existing wind farms in the region, W.E.B already commenced preliminary work on two additional projects in November, namely Spannberg III and Matzen-Klein-Harras II. Construction of the infrastructure has been completed. The next step to be taken in the near future is the foundation work. For this purpose, Mayor Stefan Flotz, Hubertus Kimmel and Andreas Glock from Klosterneuburg Abbey as well as Frank Dumeier and Michael Trcka from W.E.B gathered together in Matzen for the ground-breaking ceremony.
Subsequently, the W.E.B Board of Directors continued on to Spannberg, where Mayor Herbert Stipanitz welcomed them for the next ground-breaking ceremony.
Following the foundation work, the delivery and installation of the machinery will take place in the autumn of 2021 so that the wind power plants will be able to put into operation at the beginning of 2022 as scheduled.
The Matzen-Klein-Harras II project involves three Vestas V150 turbines with a total output of about 12 MW. Four turbines of the same type will be operated in Spannberg III. The wind farm will feature a total output of 16.8 MW when completed.
