W.E.B production results August 2021

A cool, rather wet August :
production results below target
The overall monthly production of 74,444 MWh remained below the defined target in August.
Central Europe mostly felt the influence of low-pressure systems, which is why last August was perceived as rather cool and wet. Statistical data confirmed this impression: in comparison to the years 1991 to 2020, the mean temperature was in fact below average. Nevertheless, if we had chosen the years 1961 to 1990 as the reference period, the last month would have been absolutely normal.
The wind volume was weaker than expected. In Austria, France, Italy, Canada and the United States, our wind turbines were not able to deliver the defined results. Germany benefitted from excellent production conditions, and also the Czech Republic performed well.
In the photovoltaic power segment, the conditions for solar power generation were difficult almost everywhere. In consequence, the production results remained below target in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.
The dryer regions in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic benefitted from lots of sunshine and excellent PV production results. As it was a little cloudier in Italy, the PV production target remained out of reach. In consequence, the PV power segment concluded the month below expectations.
In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria remained above and Germany below target.
