Heat and heavy rainfall in August – monthly production below target
The overall monthly production of 87,837 MWh remained below the defined target.
In August we recorded rather unusual weather conditions with severe heat and heavy rainfall, which considerably affected our monthly production. The results in the wind power segment were inconsistent. The wind conditions were favorable in the Czech Republic, which enabled our W.E.B plants to generate more electricity than usual. In Austria, Germany, Italy and France, however, the influence of a high-pressure system in mid-August was too strong to allow for positive results. Across the Atlantic, Canada benefited from changing weather conditions, while a malfunction in the electrical substation at the Silver Maple Wind Farm prevented the wind power plants in the United States to conclude the month on the positive side.
The W.E.B plants in the photovoltaic power segment were unable to reach their defined targets in Austria, Czechia, Italy and the United States due to cloudy conditions. Germany was the only production country to perform better than expected.
In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria remained below and Germany above target.
