February mostly too mild – monthly production below target
The overall monthly production of 135,909 MWh remained below the defined target.
February 2023 set out with temperatures that were slightly too mild for the time of the year. In the second week, temperatures dropped significantly with severe frost conditions for several days. In mid-February, the returning weather was much warmer than average with daily highs of up to 22 °C (71 °F). The days defined by high-pressure conditions prevented our plants in Austria, Germany, France and Italy from delivering positive production results. The Czech Republic was the only European country to perform better than expected. In North America, Canada remained above target, while the United States could not keep up with expectations.
The photovoltaic power segment experienced mixed conditions in February. The PV production remained below target in Austria, Germany and the United States. Italy and Czechia outperformed their target values.
In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria and Germany remained below target.
