W.E.B production results June 2022
Heat in June – monthly production below target
07/2022 - Back to overview
The overall monthly production of 75,354 MWh remained clearly below the defined target in June.
The month of June turned out to be rather hot. It was one of the hottest in the history of weather data recording, even compared to the average for June in the years 1991 to 2020. Half of Europe groaned under the heat; Italy was particularly suffering. Even in Austria the number of heat days was much higher than average. The situation was similarly homogenous in terms of wind conditions. All W.E.B production countries in Europe (Austria, Germany, Czechia, France and Italy) remained below target. Canada could not keep up with expectations either. The United States offered the only welcome exception and boasted production results above average.
It goes without saying that the PV segment benefitted from the high-pressure influence with lots of sunshine. Austria, Germany, Czechia and the United States delivered excellent PV production results, some way beyond the defined PV target. Italy suffered from cloudy weather as the negative outlier in the list.
In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria and Germany remained below target.
