A great deal of rain and little sunlight – Monthly production below target
The overall monthly production of 113,484 MWh was below the targeted level.
Compared to recent months, May 2023 saw average temperatures. Several stable high-pressure systems over Europe prevented positive production results in the wind power segment in Austria, Germany, Italy, Czechia and France. The North American wind power plants benefitted from instable weather conditions in May. Accordingly, Canada and the USA significantly surpassed the budgeted figures.
In the photovoltaic power segment, Germany, the Czech Republic and the USA concluded the month above target. In contrast, the budgeted figures were not achieved in Austria and Italy.
In the hydroelectric power segment, both Austria and Germany remained above target.
