High pressure in September:
production results below target
The overall monthly energy production of 70,558 MWh in the month of September 2021 was significantly below the specified target.
The month of September was characterized by obstructive high-pressure conditions over Northern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula. As a result, Atlantic low-pressure troughs hardly managed to reach Europe. Accordingly, wind conditions were relatively calm. As a consequence, none of the European W.E.B. production plants (Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, France and Italy) managed to perform above plan. Only the W.E.B power plants in Canada and the USA achieved clearly positive production results.
In contrast, the photovoltaic power segment benefitted from the prevailing high-pressure conditions, showing a positive performance in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany and Italy.
In the hydroelectric power segment, both Austria and Germany operated below target.
