W.E.B production results September 2023

No end to high pressure – monthly production below target
The overall monthly production of 83,265 MWh remained below the defined target.
The hottest September in the history of 257 years of weather data recording was defined by a stable high-pressure system. The corresponding so-called omega block – an extensive high-pressure system above Europe flanked by two low-pressure systems – even received media attention due to its tenacity. It is hardly surprising that our wind power production targets in Austria, Germany, Czechia, France and Italy remained out of reach. Moreover, Canada and the United States were spared from autumn storms and remained below expectations.
Lots of sunshine generated positive solar power results in Austria, Czechia and Germany. The photovoltaic plants in Italy and the United States could not keep up, though.
In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria remained above and Germany below target.
