2021
Breaking new ground – the W.E.B shareholders’ annual general meeting approves a share split and capital increase in an effort to secure future projects on the way to a sustainable future.
2019
Two reasons to celebrate: 25 years of W.E.B. and 20 years as a stock company. Our birthday is marked by the achievement of a new record: the activation of the Wisokolamson wind farm in Canada brings total W.E.B. power plant production above 500 MW.
2018
Our latest accolade: the Austrian eco-label. W.E.B.-supplied green energy receives the seal of approval for 100 per cent sustainable energy.
2017
WWF and Global 2000 recognises W.E.B. as a “driver of the future of electricity” and ranks the company as Austria’s number one green power provider. W.E.B. has managed to maintain this leading position ever since.
2015
Award-winning performance! ORF (Austrian Radio and Television) and the Federal Ministry for Environment awards W.E.B. the Austrian Climate Protection Prize.
2013
W.E.B launches its green energy concept. For the first time, electricity consumers are supplied with 100 per cent renewable energy generated by W.E.B’s Austrian power plants.
2011
The other side of the pond: WEB Wind Energy North America Inc. is established in Canada.
2010
Our next pioneering endeavour: W.E.B issues green power bonds. Austria’s first wind power bonds are launched onto the market.
2008
The next neighbor to join us on the road to sustainability: Italy. WEB Italia Energie Rinnovabili is founded. The Montenero di Bisaccia I solar farm begins operations just one year later.
2007
To the sunny side! W.E.B tackles solar power. Our first kilowatt hour of energy is generated by a solar power installation in Pfaffenschlag.
2006
Vive la France! WEB Energie du Vent SAS is founded. W.E.B’s first French wind farm begins operations in Vauvillers.
2005
The five turbines of W.E.B’s first wind farm in Brežany, in the Czech Republic, join our network. W.E.B’s electricity production reaches 210,403 MWh, with an installed capacity of 157,817 kW.
2003
The company receives its first noble title this year. The Austrian Federal Ministry for Environment recognises W.E.B as the country’s “most innovative eco-company”.
2002
W.E.B crosses the Austrian border for the second time with the establishment of WEB Vetrná Energie in the Czech Republic.
12. May 2000
Our original shareholders are invited to the first annual general meeting of WEB Windenergie.
6. Juli 1999
W.E.B wind power shares are launched. WEB Windenergie AG is founded. All the previous companies are gradually integrated into the unlisted stock corporation.
1997
W.E.B explores foreign territory with the establishment of the company’s first subsidiary in Germany. That same year, W.E.B brings wind power to Waldviertel with plants in Oberstrahlbach and Grafenschlag.
11. July 1995
Our first wind power project is welcomed into the world with the support of 96 members of the community. The birthplace: Michelbach in the St. Pölten district.
11. November 1994
Windkraftanlagen Errichtungs- und Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. (W.E.B) is founded by Erna, Franz and Andreas Dangl.
