Giving with Purpose: SWEB Development's Sponsorship With Employee’s Blessing Program

Our Sponsorship With Employee's Blessing (SWEB) program empowers our team to give back meaningfully by sponsoring causes that resonate with them. With up to $750 in annual sponsorship funding available per employee, this initiative transforms passion into impact, one cause at a time.

Honouring a Community Champion: Meghan’s Place

Last year, one of the most heartfelt sponsorships supported the creation of Meghan’s Place, a fully accessible and inclusive park in Westville, Nova Scotia. The park honours Meghan Bragg, Westville Town Councillor and passionate advocate for inclusive community spaces. Meghan passed away on July 31, 2023, and in her memory, her loved ones initiated a fundraising campaign to build a fully accessible park where every child and community member is welcome. The park sign was unveiled precisely one year later, on July 31, 2024.

“Meghan’s family, friends, and community members are incredibly grateful for the financial support from SWEB Development towards the 'Meghan’s Place' park project,” says Courtney Bragg, Meghan’s sister. “This donation will help us achieve the goal of making the park a fully accessible and inclusive space.  We’re so excited for the park's completion in 2025. It will be a beautiful tribute to Meghan and a wonderful addition to the community.”

Supporting a Range of Causes

SWEB employees supported various organizations last year through the program. From emergency shelters to cancer research, the donations reflect a broad spectrum of care and concern for those in need. Some notable organizations that have benefited from this support include:

• Viola’s Place Society – Providing emergency shelter and support services in northern Nova Scotia.
• Autism Nova Scotia – Advocating for understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with autism and their families.
• Adsum for Women and Children – Delivering housing, support, and advocacy for women, families, and gender-diverse individuals experiencing homelessness.
• QEII Foundation – Ride for Cancer – Funding life-saving cancer care and research through an annual community bike ride.

Through these donations, SWEB is helping build stronger communities, one sponsorship at a time, driven by the voices and values of our dedicated team.
